HISTORY
Not much is known of Simon's early life, he's one of two children, having a sister named Karina. When he was a young boy he was diagnosed with epilepsy which he's dealt with through proper medication. Around the age of twenty-three he started training under and assisting Daniel Harrow at the Queensland Institute of Forensic Medicine (QIFM). For four years and some odd months he's trained under his guidance to become a pathologist, a job that he absolutely loves and pours much of his time into. A job that from day one he writes about in a journal, every single day. Though if we're being honest, it's him writing about Harrow every single day, but that counts as work.
Some where in that mix Simon is living with and dating his boyfriend David, though his drive for work does at some point put a wedge in that. No reason is ever given for their separation, but it can be assumed that much like Harrow, he puts his work before the living more often than not. When Simon isn't working at OIFM he's putting in extra time at the hospital or studying for exams. Constantly at 100%, work work work. He takes after his boss in more ways than one, shown through both seasons 1-2 as he plays at detective just as much as Harrow does.
Season 1 has him trying to figure out the story behind bones that are found in concrete in the river, chipping away, literally and figuratively, at it for all ten episodes. He's not one to give up either, just as stubborn as Harrow about finding out the why behind things. It only becomes an issue when the more he keeps looking, the more it seems like the evidence is pointing towards Harrow as the culprit for the murder. Culminating in Simon getting caught by Harrow snooping around and finding the piece of evidence that links him to the murder, a missing pair of shears in a gifted surgeon's kit. Shears that were used to cut the ring finger off the man Harrow killed. Missing because he dumped them along with the body, though the shears were never found. He listens to why Harrow did it, an act of self defense against a man who hurt his ex-wife and his daughter, both people Simon knows and cares about too.
Harrow just wanted to be able to be there for his daughter now that he knew what that man had done to her and the possibility of going to jail would have stopped that. So he did what he did, dumped the body and hid the evidence. Simon still shocked by all of this can't look past the man he respects and adores having done all of this, but in the end he'll risk everything to fix things. "Borrowing" a pair of shears from another surgeon's kit to replace them in Harrow's. Among a few other pieces that fall together, it takes Harrow off the suspect list for murder, making Simon an accessory by default. Much to the chagrin of Harrow, who laments that Simon is too good a pathologist to risk it for him. Which Simon insists he say again, because it's very rare to get any sort of praise from Harrow, which he will. Now they're in it together.
Season 2 starts off with Harrow recovering from being shot and almost dying. Some where around all of that Simon's relationship with David ends. Through the next handful of episodes it's much the same as always, Simon working along side Harrow to find out the whys of the people who end up dead in their labs for post postmortems. Underneath that is Harrow trying to figure out who shot him and why, even though the man who did was arrested and seemingly died in custody. Too neat. Too convenient. Doesn't feel right. Simon finds out about his uncertainties and theory at one point, saying Harrow he should let him help, he's helped before. Harrow tells him to leave it, because how could a dead man be the one who tried to kill him? A very dangerous criminal who seemingly burned to death in a freak fire accident in jail months prior.
Unfortunately for Harrow, Simon is too much like him and learned from him to find out the why. Also Harrow is never wrong, so that bothers Simon as well, that he would just. Give up. On his own he goes off to look into things, snoop around and try to piece anything together, which he does. Connecting dots that lead right up to Francis Chester, the man who is apparently dead. On a ferry heading back to the mainland, Simon tries to call Harrow to let him know what he's found, but gets his voicemail so he'll leave one, excited. Finally it seems like they'll get answers-- until Francis Chester attacks Simon on the ferry, injecting him with a paralytic and dumps him overboard into the water where he drowns to death.
Alas. Simon did not have main character protection like Harrow.
PERSONALITY
Simon is a very work focused individual, even though he'd tell you he actually has a life, he's often found at work after hours burning the candlelight. Much like his boss. One could call him a mini Harrow to be honest. Dedicated in finishing the job and doing it right and he's not above going above and beyond when it comes to that. Playing detective and sticking his nose into things. Like snooping around behind his boss' back to figure out if he possibly murdered a man who's remains they have in their morgue.
He's also kind, compassionate and caring, things people like to strive to be. Or should. Helpful in his line of work and just being a decent human being. It takes respect and care in handling the dead, they're not just a corpse, they're someone's parent, sibling or spouse. They mean something to someone. This doesn't mean he won't throw hands if he has to, sometimes caring means standing up for people. Standing up for your beliefs.
On top of it all he's loyal. Sometimes to a fault. Though not without reason. He wouldn't jump off a bridge if someone told him too, but depending on the reason and the person... Simon isn't stupid, he puts thought into why he'd jump for someone. Like putting his entire career on the line for his boss after finding out he indeed did murderer someone. But having the entire picture in front of him he made a decision and it wasn't just because it was someone he respected. It effected a lot of people he cared about, not just that one person. It was worth the cost to take that risk.
And to top it all off he's delightfully bratty and filled with sass when the moment calls for it. He likes having a little fun okay. It's also useful in combating older men who behave like children and bicker like they're a bitter married couple and are supposed to be good role models for him. More like questionable role models.

QUESTIONNAIRE
Is your character willing to have sex and able to give informed consent?
Yes.
What is the wish your character made? Why did they make it?
Simon had the unfortunate fate of trying to be too much like his boss and play detective, but he doesn't have main character plot armor and got himself murdered. Much like anyone, he would prefer to not be dead or murdered, so his wish is to get a redo and be not dead. He'll be wishing specifically to be brought back before he goes off on his solo Sherlock mission preferably to try convincing Harrow, his boss, to look into things together this time.
Perhaps if they're working on it together he'll have better luck this time. Or his killer won't come after the both of them at the same time, even though the guy wants to kill Harrow too, but not before making him suffer the loss of his loved ones and all that serial killer stuff.
How will your character initially react to Decadia's setting?
It's going to feel like a lot at first, but he's going to try and kinda just go with the flow. He's fresh from being murdered in a very not fun way so focusing on doing what he has to to get his wish will be his main concern and not falling apart into panic attacks over said death.
While he's from a modern setting, this place is pretty futuristic technology wise, but he'll catch on quick, especially since they seem to have made things for the contestants more "old fashioned", which is very kind of them. That being said his trauma may give him some hang ups here and there, but he's very comfortable in his sexuality and while he's not been in any sort of casual hook ups in years, he was some months fresh off a long term relationship so he's gotta get back out there. Why not the sexy wish city?
What are you most interested in doing with your character in Decadia?
He'll have a castmate here, his boss, Harrow and working through some personal stuff with them is a main focus, but not the full focus. Being messy and dramatic with them will be great for ratings though! Otherwise I'm interested in him making a lot of connections with other contestants, sexual or not, but also having some steady friends with benefits. Possibly more, who can say? Feelings and sex can get messy after all.
Simon might be stir crazy in the mix of stuff the contestants are expected to do, as he's used to working A LOT. Even if he did want to work here, pathology is kinda moot, considering they can bring dead people back to life and all. Can't be a pathologist without any corpses.
What aspect of sex appeals to your character the most?
He likes the connection of it, even if it's not a serious relationship, the emotions and feelings during sex can be the best part of it. Sex is cool and all, but when two, or more, people are really in that moment together is can elevate things to be even better.
A passionate lover is better than someone who's just going through the motions of it for gratification. In that case he'd just feel like some blow up doll and who wants to feel like that? Even if it's just sex, he wants to feel like he's a reason someone is enjoying things, not that he's just a body to be used. Sure some people are into that kinda thing as a kink, just being more of a object, but not his sorta thing.
What kinks does your character have, known or unknown to them? Why do they have those particular kinks?
I tend to play Simon as having had a pretty vanilla sex life with previous partners, never really getting a chance to experiment much, so Decadia will be a treat in that regard. He's a simple guy, likes some neck kisses and being told he's pretty, having someone touch him with a little reverence. Anything above that he's not gotten to expand on, but building off simple he'd be into biting/marking to a lighter degree, not full on chomping down, but nipping and leaving marks on his neck and chest, thighs. Places most people may not see if not for a couple hickies placed a little too high above a collar. Reminders of a pleasurable coupling.
A lot of men can be very put off by others touching their chest, it's seen as a more feminine thing or they just don't get any pleasure from it, but he's always liked when his partner/boyfriends would indulge him a little. Mostly his nipples, they're sensitive and while he's only experienced a little light tweaking here and there, if encouraged he'd get down with some toy play here in Decadia. Some light pain play, but nothing too intense.
Now these last kinks kind of all snowball together in a way. Simon has a thing for older men, which could tie back to wanting a partner who's in theory more experienced and more down to try things out with him because of that. Plus the potential to have a partner who's more understanding due to lived experience and patience since they'd be more mature. Which also leads to wanting approval from those older men in his life, especially a certain someone (his boss), which he very rarely gets. It could very easily lead to a praise kink here in Decadia, please tell him he's done good, tell him he's a good boy. And last but not least, sort of snuggling in between all that, Simon of course likes to work hard and do a good job, but he can also be a bit of a sass, a brat if one may say. All in good fun, but a brat could possibly use a steady hand to put him in his place. I think he'd be unsure about being spanked at first, but as long as the person(s) doing it respected how much he can take and engaged in some after care he could really get into that.
Also not really a kink per se, but something that will play into some of these are the fact he's here right after drowning to death, being murdered actually, so all of this feels even more like a very weird dream. He doesn't feel real half the time and being touched, held and engaging with people physically will be like a drug to him. If others can touch him, if he can feel pleasure and pain with them, then he's real. He's alive.
